Pregnancy is a very special time filled with all kinds of emotional highs and lows, anticipation, fear, peacefulness and excitement. It is a time of transition; changing self-images, physical, emotional and spiritual growth, commitment and miracles. It is a time when your consciousness and your baby are houses in one body.

What you feel, the baby feels. This is why meditation during all stages along the journey to motherhood is such a vital part of your health.

We are holistic beings. Our mind and body are eternally connected and when pregnant, also connected to the mind and body of our baby. Meditation can help create calm and peaceful environment for you baby to grow in. A daily meditation practice helps to alleviate stress and anxiety, aid emotional balance, decrease heart rate and blood pressure, ultimately helping you, and your baby, achieve a state of peace and emotional well-being.

If you are new to meditation, start with this short 3-minute Gaia Glow meditation:

Find a comfortable position either sitting on a cushion or laying down, set your timer for 3 minutes, and allow your gaze to soften or gently close your eyes. Begin to focus on your breath. Inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling completely through your nose. (If you are congested feel free to breathe through the mouth.) Visualize each inhale going down to your baby, swirling around providing nourishing, fresh oxygen. Each exhale removing any toxins or impurities. Continue to breathe deeply visualizing each round cleansing and nourishing you and your baby until the timer goes off.
